How I: cleared up my acne!

Ok! So, I've never really had a big issue with acne. I've had a couple breakouts here and there, but nothing too dramatic...

Until a couple of months ago. I don't exactly know what the cause of my acne was at first. I knew it couldn't be my foundation, blushes, bronzers, cleansers, etc. because I had been using them for a few months and I never had a problem with them. I tried to think of what I had changed in my beauty routine that was causing the problem...

Finally, I figured out that it was because I wasn't cleaning my face properly. I wasn't getting all the makeup off before going to bed at night. Instead of washing my face twice, once to get the makeup off and a second time to actually clean my face, I only washed my face once, then I moisturized. Big, no no for my skin! It let me know by breaking out on my chin, my cheeks, my nose, in between my eyebrows, etc. It was terrible. I couldn't even cover it up with my foundation.

So, I did some researching trying to figure out how to fix this problem. I looked at home remedies, You Tube, read product reviews, etc. So, I bought the Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam. It had great reviews and many successful stories, so I decided to give it a try. After about a few weeks of using it, my acne got worse. New ones formed  and I had to stop using it.

I didn't want to spend any more money on products, so I turned to home remedies. I read about garlic being able to help, apple cider vinegar, and lemons. So, I gave lemons a try, along with Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment. My beauty routine consisted of me washing my face twice, applying a toner, my moisturizer, then applying lemon juice on my pimples, letting it dry for 10-15 minutes, then applying the Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment, letting it soak in for 10-15 minutes, then finall reapplying lemon juice on my pimples. I saw results within a week! I was so amazed. I still have some acne, but I can tell it's really clearing up, the more I use this beauty routine.

  1. It’s kind of scary to think that simply not washing your face properly can cause acne. Looking at the brighter side, it’s amazing that it can be reverted through simple measures. You are very fortunate that you didn’t have to look so hard for a treatment for acne. I do hope that this problem didn’t come back though!

  2. Hmm, have you tried consulting a skin specialist? I mean, before you try all the skin products and regimens out there, you should ask your dermatologist first if these solutions are really good for your skin. Like what happened in your case, you don’t know if these are efficient or will just make your acne problem worse.

  3. “I didn't want to spend any more money on products, so I turned to home remedies.”—Yeah. Many times, a person relies on natural products hoping that they may give her great results. Well, if you’re lucky and it works on your skin, then good for you! But, if you observe that it doesn’t suit your skin and just making your problem worse, you should just stop using it. You might spend more money in the future if you keep on relying on those products.
